Mongolia has established a legal framework enabling private enterprises to export halal meat to West Asian countries, according to Montsame News Agency.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia, and the Mongolian Embassy in Kuwait.
They worked towards obtaining halal certification and establishing the necessary legal framework to facilitate the export of meat and meat products to West Asian nations. This effort was supported by the UN Industry Development Organization, which played a pivotal role in ensuring that the Mongolian Agency for Standard Metrology was accredited by the Gulf Cooperation Council Accreditation Center (GAC).
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, presented the Accreditation Certificate to S. Batbaatar, the Director of the Mongolian Agency for Standard Metrology.
With this Accreditation Certificate, Mongolian meat products that comply with halal standards can now be exported to West Asian countries.
