Iran’s Acting President, Mohammad Mokhber, reaffirmed the robust and strategic relationship between Iran and China during discussions at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on Thursday. Speaking alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping, Mokhber highlighted the enduring ties built on mutual interests and respect.
“The relations between Iran and China are strategic and are being deepened and developed based on mutual interests and respect,” said Mokhber during the summit, underscoring both nations’ commitment to enhancing cooperation across economic, commercial, and energy sectors.
President Xi Jinping echoed Mokhber’s sentiments, noting that China’s policy towards Iran remains steadfast and uninfluenced by external factors.
Earlier, Mokhber held bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, discussing the strategic nature of Tehran-Moscow relations in challenging unilateralism on the global stage.

During the summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed internal matters, including the creation of a unified parliament for the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
President Xi also extended his condolences for the death of the Iranian President and his associates in a helicopter crash in May. He requested Mokhber convey his greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
The leaders of Iran and China have shown a determination to expand cooperation in economic, trade, and energy sectors, reinforcing their strategic alliance amid evolving global dynamics.
