King Saud University (KSU) and the University of Tokyo have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance academic collaboration in the fields of physics, chemistry, and Earth sciences, reports Arab News Japan.
The MoU was signed by KSU’s acting rector, Dr Abdullah Al-Salman, and the University of Tokyo’s president, Dr Teruo Fujii. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Hiroaki Aihara, director of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Center for Future Science and Technology.
Dr Al-Salman expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration is a major milestone in fostering future partnerships between the two universities.”
The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Center, situated at the University of Tokyo, is set to play a pivotal role in this collaboration, driving efforts to enhance and advance scientific research and academic exchange between the institutions.
The MoU signifies a significant step forward in international academic cooperation, with both universities committed to sharing knowledge and resources to promote scientific innovation and discovery.
In related news, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was set to visit Japan last week; however, the trip was postponed due to King Salman’s health concerns.
